Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely, #3) Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr

My review

rating: 2 of 5 stars
I read this three-book 'urban faeries and the teenagers they love' series during finals. Enjoyable, in the way of young adult that doesn't simplify or sanitize high school. The second book, in particular, deals with the aftermath of rape in a considered, complicated way. And the whole thing has this pleasantly off-center feel so that you know this isn't a faerie tale where you fall in love with the person you should and it all works out to perfect plan.

Except, honestly? By halfway through the third book, I realized I just didn't care anymore. And not even enough to try and figure out why.

What a coincidence because I recently finished the first book and have been picking up the second off and on in starts for the past couple of weeks. I liked the exact same thing you've pointed out: that it doesn't follow the typical formulaic fantasy love story. It's about choice not fate and I like that. But like you, I feel my attention wandering.

The third book is this kind of vague blur of Seth angst angst I want to loooooove her forever but I'm mortal. ...meh.
