Bored me. Even the fact that the protag is queer and on the ase spectrum didn't keep my attention. The setting almost did – in this city, running on ancient technology no one understands, the only real function of currency is to buy water. But even that was dealt with glancingly. There's nothing wrong with this, really, but also nothing right for me either.
