Yes, I was just talking to my FiL about this who, like basically
everyone up to the 90's, put his kids down on their tummies. The safe
sleep campaigns have swung so hard the other direction that someone
joked to me the other day that the next round of guidance will be
something like "the only safe way for your baby to sleep is on his
back, on a slab of concrete, in a room at 76 degrees, being watched by
a parent at all times." It's....almost not funny. But yeah, FiL was
startled by this too, looked into it, was convinced by the
overwhelming data on the subject of stomach sleeping, and is now
paranoid about what else we might not know that we don't know. I mean,
he's going to worry about something, I guess...
