Uh. So this was a metaphorical punch in the gut. Because I'd never put it that way but I do in fact expect that of myself, and expect others to expect it of me. Which they both do and don't, I think; we try really hard for it but when I have screwed up people have been shockingly gentle.
I don't know what I'm going to do with this crystallization, mind, but now I have it.
