The Riddle by Allison Croggon

The Riddle

3/5. Book two in this LotR-style epic fantasy with the poetry and the very special magical girl and the ancient evil rising over the unpronounceable kingdoms.

You guys, I do not know why I like this? It takes itself extremely, unflinchingly seriously, and I’m basically allergic to epic fantasy at this point. But it also features such gems as a casual mention of the heroine’s period synchronizing with the full moon, so. Can I truly be blamed?
