I was also anticipating and dreading this, because her more recent books really haven’t worked for me. Ilya really carries the book for me in a way her other protagonists don’t, and I did enjoy all that careful character work she did with both him and Shane. And then - yeah. Argh. The sudden outing, the cardboard villainy of the hockey managers and one of the teams, and the lunge for the happy ending.
