Hm. I will be interested to know what you think of books by "Nina Harper" when they come out. She's one of my friends, a hard SF writer (under her real name) turned "paranormal romance" writer by market forces. She also teaches writing classes at MIT, and is a 40-something Goth who out-Goths all the Goth kids.

The first one comes out next year and is called Succubus in the City. I know, it sounds really corny, but I suspect it will actually be good.
