Well, STORM FRONT arrived yesterday afternoon and since I didn't have any exams to prepare, tests to correct, and only a hockey game to watch on TV, I had it finished before bed...about the same time the Sens were finished by the Ducks.

I liked it...sorta. I kept on thinking that JKR didn't have to kill off Harry Potter because someone's already written him as a grown-up. I doubt that Snape would approve of the way Potions are made, but they were inventive. Absolutely loved Bob! The bad guys were interesting, with those growning scorpions, the demon from Toad House, the way Magic is described and manipulated.

I liked the dilemma that Dresden faces, the appeal of the Dark versus the Light, which made it to my mind even more Potterish. Even the 'scar' he carries from having killed his mentor...

On the whole, I think I will probably read more of these. You say they get better. I enjoy going reading through the development of a writer. So, I'll be keeping an eye out for these.

Thanks for the link.

Now then, to read Glen Cook's The Black Company, which accompanied this one and the Dangerous Book for Boys in the box Amazon sent.
