One of my favorite series! This is pretty clearly an early Bujold and I agree, I don't think she's quite figured out Komarr's backstory at this point. At the same time, it's a book I return to over and over when I'm tired and don't want to concentrate too hard, but want some quality dialogue and a good laugh. Miles on fast penta is priceless.
